But like, I feel like if you get to know me, then you're like, oh, she's fine.
You can kind of separate.
There definitely have been times where I'm like, I am sick of being Elizabeth Smart.
Where is the benefit in all of this?
No, by that point, I was like, if anyone ever judges me for that, they're not worthy of my time.
My husband, he didn't know who I was.
I mean, he's from Scotland, born and raised, had no clue who I was.
If the Scots are anything, they are stubborn.
He was never afraid to push back or tell me exactly what he thought, which I still appreciate.
But back then I was like, thank you, because I felt like everyone just would tell me yes or go along with whatever I said, probably because I thought I'd break or they didn't want to hurt my feelings or something.
Nah, I don't think so.
That's a good partner.
