work a group like the Autism Society does is we try to empower autistic people and their families with the type of information that really does help them understand themselves and start to put together those advocacy strategies, those self-advocacy strategies.

And those might be unique to one relationship or they might be unique to a setting like a school or a job, for instance.

You know, the first...

The first is that autism

and disability broadly even, really are not partisan issues, right?

You know, people find themselves with disability from the time they're born or onset for any number of reasons.

Frankly, if you make it to a certain age, you're gonna make it into the category of folks who are disabled in this country.

The othering of disabled or autistic people is,

really not helpful.

And there are certainly, let's just say, autism knows no allegiance to red or blue.

Our community extends across every facet of diversity that it could.

And there's a difference between something being partisan and something being politicized.

And I do fear that autism has been deeply politicized in a way that has horrible consequences, not just for

you know, individuals and families.

But in our population, you know, the Minnesota autism community,
