Well, they thought I was broke, but I didn't have anywhere to live.
And they're like, oh, let me save you.
I'll give you.
But then they feel like they have control over you.
We were talking about this earlier.
Like, it's like you're their dog for the night or the weekend.
He's drinking and bad behavior and like he shit all over the hotel somewhere or something.
It's funny, too, because part of my first book, Future Drugs, is making fun of that memoir phase.
Because then after that, there were just a ton.
Everybody wanted to cash in on that wild memoir.
There's that book, Cherry.
I never read it, but I heard about it.
I tell people about my book, or they read it, and they're like, oh, you should read this.
And I'm like, nah, I'm good.
If I'm already writing something like that, I'm not going to read it.
I don't want it to pollute what I'm doing.
So a friend of mine, Lexi, was like, you should just make certain things in your book way more extreme than they were.
I was in San Francisco.
I go into the alley to smoke next to the bar.
And I didn't know that it was the alley where they have the needle exchange.
