And so the only thing I could think was innovation, spread, diversity, bring that to the fore.

but realistically like you know i tend to alternate between like massive ridiculous hope and oh god what's on earth is going to happen and all i can do is try and do my bit and hopefully it's going to have a better outcome because there's really this is the other thing the total number of people that are actually thinking about the type of stuff we are talking about is a handful maybe a few hundred the total number of people that are doing something about it is literally a handful

Because most of the people involved in this sector, they just want to build better AI.

They want to build AI that can do everything.

And they think that that will solve all the problems.

Like literally part of the manifesto is that, well, how do you make money?

The AI will tell us how to make money.

How do you solve the problems?

The AI can solve alignment.

Does that strike you as patently ridiculous?

Yes.

But again, like I look at these things, like literally on open AI's thing, road to AGI, it says this could kill us all.

We're going to build it anyway.

Who did they ask about that?

I don't know.

And again, I think it's full of wonderful people, but we're in really weird times.

And again, like how many people listen to this?

The reality is the technology is right there.

Even if we stop today, say for instance, the technology doesn't move beyond where we go today.
