But our standard of living has not doubled.

So we figure that homestead exemption properties produce about $102 million a year for the city budget.
Sounds low.
It's less than 7% of the total budget.
Where does the rest of it come from?
It comes from fees from all the commercial buildings, all the high-rises and so forth.
We're talking about...
single family residents that have a three bedroom house somewhere in Shenandoah.
We also just had the state CFO come and say, you know what, Miami residents, you guys have been taxed, overtaxed.
to the tune of $95 million.
And that includes all sorts of waste and fraud.
So you're looking at a delta of $7 million.
You mean to tell me you can't find $7 million in efficiencies in a $3 billion budget?
You almost have to try not to be able to do that.
So again, it isn't, by the way, I don't know, not too many people know this.
