I understand that it's Memorial Day weekend, so there are not a lot of kids on this campus.

But how does someone get a body out of their dorm room, down the hallway, out the door, and then what?

You've got to drag it or take it to a parking lot to put it into a truck to then transport it somewhere.

Yeah, she's a full-grown woman, too.

She's also over six foot tall.

really yeah dang so how does he where is the body how does no one see it no one notices i mean it's crazy no that's the thing you're assuming no one saw sometimes people see and they don't want to say anything all i know is it's been 30 years and there has never been any witness that's come forward that has seen anything that's why they don't know where the body is and it is crazy to me whether maybe i'm wrong maybe it didn't happen in his dorm room maybe he drug her behind the dorms and did something it's like he committed the perfect crime

Oh, except for the fact that we know he did it, but he almost committed the perfect crime, except the circumstances were just in his favor, like cleaning of the dorm room, the campus police not doing anything.

So rumors circulate throughout San Luis Obispo County that Kristen's body may have been buried and moved multiple times.

Kristen's family continues publicly advocating for answers and keeping attention on the case.

On May 25th of 2002, this is the sixth anniversary of her disappearance, Kristen Smart is declared legally dead.

Now, between 2000 and 2010,

the san luis obispo county sheriff's office continues investigating the case for years detectives repeatedly revisit evidence and conduct additional searches connected to the flores family kristen's parents remain outspoken and continue pressuring authorities not to let the case go cold i also know the attorney that was representing the smart family in the civil suit he has a huge sign outside of his law office that has kristen's picture on it

Oh, like if you have a phone number and everything.

And he said he will leave it up until she is found.

Now we get to 2019.

Now, this case goes cold, obviously, for many, many years because the body is never found and they don't have enough evidence to charge Paul Flores.

However, in 2019, this is a catalyst for bringing more attention to this case and actually getting it to the point where Paul Flores is eventually charged.

But it's because in 2019, there was a local musician and a podcaster named Chris Lambert who comes out with a podcast called Your Own Backyard, which focuses only on the Kristen Smart disappearance.

So this guy's name is Chris Lambert.

He grew up in San Luis Obispo.
