Like, were you making enough money out of those or were you really just getting paid a one-off fee and then like having to walk away from those things?
Because what I'm trying to understand is were you making enough out of those that you could have almost continued to do that?
And what was the impetus to really start something yourself?
You know, what do you think creators need to really understand about the difference between the two things about collaborating with somebody else's brand versus starting something yourself?
Yeah, and a following alone doesn't build a business.
I try to say this all the time.
Like, it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter if you have hundreds of millions of followers, tens of millions of followers, a million followers, a hundred thousand followers.
It's like, it's a product and a business.
What did you have to unlearn in the transition from influencer to business owner?
Yes.
Well, because nobody follows you to hear your business updates.
Exactly.
Right.
And I think that that's why influencers as a platform are kind of an imperfect system because we follow, I don't know, the rock to follow the rock, right?
Not to hear about Taramana or whatever it is.
Do you know what I mean?
And so it's almost like this imperfect system.
And in a way you have to look at your grid and be like, okay, then I'll talk about it there and there and there.
And for a brand, you need to be always on.
