Jesus is the offer and the offering.

Malik and I have been reading the Bible front to back.

And I love the Old Testament.

I'm actually a huge Old Testament junkie.

I love it.

I love it so much.

It's so good.

What I love most about the Old Testament is how much it mirrors the image of Jesus.

And one of the first things I noticed this time around when we read, reread the Bible for its entirety again, was about the high priest and Jesus being the offer and the offering.

And the only other time we see that is Matisldek.

And he was the only prophet and priest, meaning that

he communicated God's word and he simultaneously was offering sacrifices and, um, et cetera.

And so he was operating in a priesthood that no one else touched until Jesus came and Jesus being the offer and the offering high priest would go into the Holy of Holies.

And even there would be, even in the book of Leviticus, you could read all about animal sacrifices.

I think it's incredibly entertaining.

Um,

but you know if you if you're just starting out that's probably not the best place you'd probably go to like the gospels and then you know read the new testament then jump over there i don't really recommend that for the first read you're gonna be like and abraham split two doves in half and walk through them and then zipporah cut off moses's foreskin and then laid it at his feet and worshipped him like this is kind of gross like it's probably not a great first read but like once you understand who jesus is then you go back and you're like this is actually like really awesome um

Anyways, it's awesome because high priest would sacrifice animals on behalf of those who have sinned, right?
