And I wrote all about it before the game yesterday saying, you do that, you will get a lot of rush opportunities.
And the Canadians, unlike the Senators and unlike the Philadelphia Flyers, who I have nothing but respect for, two good teams, they were full value throughout the season.
They have more, the Canadians have more premium talent than those teams.
They have the type of talent that can take advantage of those opportunities deep into their lineup from, you look at Caulfield, Slavkovski and Suzuki on one end of it, but like,
Alex Taxier, too.
There are a lot of guys on this team that can kill you off the rush.
I just felt that the Hurricanes...
were not prepared for what came at them last night, not from a speed perspective and certainly not from an exit strategy.
And I want to tell you, Shane, you watch Montreal play Buffalo.
You watch Montreal play Tampa.
You watch them play against every team in the league this season.
Montreal is a possession team.
They love to possess almost to a fault to the point where they will reverse the puck in their own end a lot.
They'll do that to obviously get a full line change in when they're not under pressure, but they'll even do it under pressure so they could try to keep the puck and make a play and execute coming up.
You do that against Carolina, and they will maul you.
They will just kill you.
And I'm sure we're going to see some of it in this series.
The Canadians didn't do that last night.
They kept the puck off the wall.
They kept the puck through the middle of the ice, whether they were flipping it or passing it or stretching it.
