No, this is the top of the list and we're not prepared for it.
And we're going to get in a moment about what are we going to do about the
the massive tsunami of myths and disinformation that's holding us back, no less taking away resources at a time when we should be amping up, right?
So the other one, of course, is COVID, which is at low levels at the moment.
However, there was a variant seen in South Africa with 57 new spikes to BA.3.
It may or may not, you know, have a role of bringing COVID to a higher level in the weeks or months ahead.
Outside of that, it seems to be at this low level.
What's your thinking about, are we going to see further COVID waves?
Yeah, I think to emphasize, you know, at least the CDC is still doing genomic surveillance and we're moving up higher with LP81 as the primary variant.
But just because that variant isn't so difficult for us to deal with, as you are alluding to, we keep having a waning of the immunity that's been built, that we have built, each of us, and there will be some tougher variants that we'll be confronting.
The chance of having significant waves may be not as bad as we've seen in the five years of the pandemic, but certainly significant.
And also, you know, doing all sorts of things of hospitalizations, long COVID, no less the fatalities.
It's still out there.
Flu is on the way down.
That's good, I guess.
Bad flu season.
Are we missing any pathogens that we should have on our alert before we move over to YLE?
