So 3D printing, you use plastic and you print layer by layer to build a structure.
The concept of bioprinting is essentially the same, but instead of using plastic as a filament, you use a special material, a biomaterial that your cells like and they can thrive in and survive.
And you mix this material together with human cells.
So a very simple concept.
Let's say that you're missing your right ear.
You come into the OR or to the doctor and you say, you know, I would like to get my right ear back.
So we take an image of your left ear.
We make a replica on the computer.
