And let's say you don't have any welfare.

There's no Medicare, no Medicaid.
If you screw up your body in 30 years when you're dealing with diabetes and losing a leg, you got to figure out how to pay for that yourself.
And if you can't, you're going to be dead on the street.
I mean, if there's an example of a society where that's worked, I'd love to know about it.
But to me, it kind of sounds like socialism in the opposite way, where it's like on paper, in theory, it'd be great if everybody would be motivated by this and then everybody would rise to the occasion.
But in practice, I don't think that's how people work.

A very specific quote, but I had a young Gen Z-er that used to work for me hanging out, and he mentioned that he was racking up a bunch of debt and traveling all over the world because, fuck it, he'll deal with it when he's 40.
Guess what?
When you're 40, you're going to deal with it, and you're going to be like, God, I was a stupid kid.
And I think people have that mindset when you're young, when your prefrontal cortex isn't fully developed.
Yeah.
You're going to do things that are stupid because there's no regulation.
Same thing with, again, do we draw the line on children drinking, children smoking?
That's themselves.
Let's say we're not talking about drunk driving.
We're talking about a kid pounding a fifth of vodka at 15 years old.
Should that be legal?
