I have no idea what the result of the auction was, but that was essentially where the starting bids were coming in.
While there is some interesting science about how they synthesize the DNA and they use modern cells engineered to produce the protein and the AI aspects of this in which they say, give us a bunch of scenarios in which this could be possible and it comes up with something and they are able to then use that to grow this material, whatever it winds up being.
That's all interesting and fascinating in itself.
But what do you think the public's going to take away from this particular
bit of news.
All they're going to remember is that scientists made leather from T-Rex and T-Rex skin is real.
And the Jurassic Park fantasy dances on in their heads.
And this is bad.
Not good for a population that needs a lot more explanation when it comes to the science that they're trying to infuse into their marketing campaign.
And they're doing this in a really bad way.
