Well, hello, Evan.
Oh, that's me.
So I run the service design consulting practice at NetApp, and it's a lot of fun.
We just run around the world and meet people, and it's great.
It's like family counseling.
Yeah, we keep score during the workshops to see who's winning.
It's great.
Maybe someday, yeah.
Well, sort of.
So let me back up.
Service level design is really unique in the industry.
Number one, it understands the target market for the storage service delivery.
We do a thing called IO density measurement.
We actually look at the speed of the data, which is even more critical today than the capacity required for the data.
Speed is everything, right?
Number two, we do an IO budgeting process.
We make sure that we help customers plan the IO for the capacity that they need to deliver.
This is critical if you're going to be a cloud service provider.
Number three, we have built an adaptive QoS mechanism that is now built into the service level manager that makes sure that the right QoS policy is set on every volume to deliver the service that is promised to the consumer of that service.
