They were damn good last year.

They weren't quite good enough.

And I think they recognize that their issue was quarterback.

As much as we commend Geno Smith for changing the trajectory of his career for a couple of years in there, he wasn't good enough.

and they needed to upgrade until when they went and got sam donard who was coming off an unbelievable regular season with the minnesota vikings it put them on another level and then obviously he got more comfortable as a coach right so the only parallel that i can kind of draw with the new york jets is does aaron glenn become more comfortable being a head coach more in control because i think every rookie head coach and i've seen this because i've called some of these games with with these rookie head coaches

They have no idea.

They talk like they do, but they really don't.

They're kind of figuring it out as it goes along.

And so what matters is not that first year, it's the growth from year one to year two.

And we saw it, obviously, with Mike McDonald.

Are we going to see that with Aaron Glenn?

benefited Mike McDonald that Aaron Glenn does not benefit from is Mike McDonald inherited a 9-8 football team.

He inherited a team that was not in a horrible place roster-wise.

Unfortunately, and you can blame the trade deadline decisions, even though everyone loves it now...

He currently has a roster that features how many guys on defense that will be a part of the answer whenever there is an answer.

And unfortunately, that number is very, very low.

So Mike McDonald, not to take anything away from him, because he's coached for two years in the NFL, 10-7 and 14-3.
