There wasn't a lot to kind of help Geno Smith develop, right?

There wasn't a quarterback consultant, right?

It was just Geno coming out of West Virginia being a gunslinger saying, hey, I'm here to save New York.

And New York chewed him up and spit him up.

Now, yeah, did he have some character flaws?

Yeah.

But, you know, there was a lot of things that I think he learned from.

And I think...

It's tough because the emergence of Ryan Fitzpatrick happens because he gets punched in the jaw.

Then he comes back the next year.

He actually starts.

He gets back in there, but he tears his ACL.

Then he lands with the Giants and on and on and on.

But I think Geno's a great dude, man.

Guys like him.

It was an unfortunate locker room situation that will forever be a dark cloud over his career.

But when you talk to guys about Geno, man, they like him.

Anybody that can't take a shot does take a shot.

The only way to turn anything around in reference to a football team is you've got to do it brick by brick.
