And the fourth thing, I think, is having realistic expectations.
And that's becoming more and more the case now where...
people want to do everything all at once.
And I think we probably contribute to that in a way.
But I think the beauty of training this way, I'm very enjoyment driven.
I'm not competitive really at all.
Haven't been for a long time.
I kind of do this because I really like asking the question of, can I do this and figuring it out?
And have I improved as a person along the way?
Going on adventures, different places, all that sort of stuff.
But we have conversations with people that come to us and they ask, oh, I want to do this, I want to do BJJ, I want to do this, I want to do that, I want to run a sub three, I want to bench 315.
Okay, hang on.
All of these things can be achieved over a long period of time, but you can't dedicate 100% of yourself to three, four, five, six different disciplines all at once.
You need to be prioritizing what you can actually achieve practically, but within a clear set of parameters.
So I think it's really important to have...
clearly define goals as a hybrid athlete otherwise you can end up spending a lot of time just doing more when actually the secret sauce with a lot of the programming is utilizing more with less because if you've got 100% to give you've got to turn down certain dials turn up certain dials to be able to actually make progress in opposing disciplines that's the key they're opposing they're not working concurrently
And that takes practice, it takes trial and error, it takes support, it takes lessons, it takes a few failures, and that's the key.
And I think that's where most people go wrong.
You give great advice.
