From there, then I suppose there was that firm connection.

But then there was tragedy as well.

So that's the thing.

In effect, Dick Hengler became a key part of the Rose Festival.

He owned the hotel called the Rose Hotel, where largely speaking, that was so closely associated with the event because it was right beside where the dome was.

So it was inextricably linked to

to the main event itself, bought and renovated a very fine hotel, a four-star, just on the outskirts of Tralee.

And he had also then invested this sizable six-figure sum in the Rose Festival company itself.

It kind of becomes obvious then that relations soured at some point in around about the last five years.

Yeah, and Dick Engler, a phrase that he uses that he was taken advantage of.

Ultimately, Shane, the Rose Hotel is obviously still in with the Hengler family in the wake of Dick Hengler's passing.

Dot's bar is named after the Hengler's daughter, Dorothy, as a tribute to her.

Although it carries the Rose name, it's a separate entity entirely to the Rose of Tralee itself.

Is this matter now closed and does it leave a kind of a sour taste all around?
