I think this is so much of money as well in general, is the idea of who we are versus who we are.
Totally.
Does that come up with food?
I think the other thing as well is sometimes when we're sort of marinating in our own world, something that we have been doing for years and that we're quite good at, that we can forget the knowledge that other people outside of the world don't have.
Has there been anything that you, as you've been doing this series, any sort of tips or tricks that you've put out there that you've been surprised at the response it got that's been really useful for people, but you maybe took it for granted?
So you do salt and water and you put your feta cheese in it and that saves it?
Then you've got a little block ready to go for the next time.
Do you think there's an underrated tactic that can help people enjoy their food more while spending less?
You've got to be making things you like.
It often is the way though, isn't it?
It's unfortunately the unsexy regular stuff.
You mentioned before about the protein and I think that's a really tricky one because that is often, well, it's meant to be the heart of the meal often, but it's tricky and it's the expensive bit.
Do you have any tips and tricks for how you...
either pick proteins or stretch them out and things like that?
Love it.
Is there anything that you think people think of as fancy and out of reach that is more accessible to the everyday person than we might expect?
bacon bones you know which where they've cured bacon and packed full of flavor and absolutely amazing to impart flavor on things that you're making 100 okay if someone is listening to this and they're thinking okay yeah i absolutely do need to get on top of the food bill and this is all sounding really good if they took one thing from this what do you think would be the biggest sort of mindset change
That's such a good point about food having this weird sort of elitist streak to it because it's such a basic requirement.
Yeah.
Every single person has to eat.
