Was it a lie?
Yeah, I guess it kind of was a lie.
But that was what I needed to do.
To convince my brain and to convince myself, my future husband is not so future.
This bitch is right here and he's in my life and he's given me this ring.
It was a lie to myself.
But what we tell ourselves, especially repeatedly, become our lived reality, become our lived experience.
The confirmation bias in our brain will work to make anything we tell it true.
So if we tell it all the time, like, oh my God, I'm so stupid.
I'm so dumb.
I'm so clumsy.
I'm so whatever.
The universe will find situations, experiences, opportunities, people, places, whatever, that will confirm that thought bias.
And so we need to get a little bit intentional with our initial thoughts on what we tell ourselves.
And yes, sometimes
it's going to be a fucking lie, okay?
Sometimes it's going to be a goddamn lie.
But I think that that is not necessarily a bad thing.
It's not a bad thing.
