It's not overly interesting, this is a relatively boring part of the drive, but on the right is the mighty Waikato, the old Misty they call it.
Why do they call it the old misty?
Well, because a lot of fog in the winter just rests on the old misty.
And, I mean, I've done a lot of drives through here on the way back from cricket matches in the fog.
Sorry, I'm just here cranking the roof there as I try to get around this truck.
This is a floodway here.
So when the river floods, it's actually designed to flood under the road and into these paddocks here, these wetlands on the left.
So during a big rain, that will all be covered in water.
Has she been tested yet?
A couple of years ago.
