There's a little bit of a fromagerie.
I love cheese.
But on the right, you've got the first glimpse of the mighty Waikato.
We've got the Aquafit here as well on the right.
So what's the Aquafit?
Is it a... It's more a pipe extrusion, custom fabrication piping.
So, hey, Mercer.
What goes on a Mercer?
See, this on the left here is Mercer, a little village.
On the right here is the Mercer kind of truck stop area.
Named after Captain Henry Mercer.
Captain Henry Mercer, he was killed in the Rangariri in 1863.
The town became pretty much a critical river trail transfer point.
So rail could only get so far before it then had to transfer to the river and vice versa.
And so this was a transfer point between the river and railway.
Oh, jeez, how Roman of us.
So there you go.
There's a gun turret from the River Gunboat Pioneer that's displayed in the town there, the local war memorial, if you want to pop in and have a look at that.
