Um, and Dave, even when he was there in year one, um, with, and Richie, when he was there in 24 and particularly now with Matt and Kai in last year, um, you know, just to continue to help them with their information, their communication, how they describe the car.
how they communicate and interact with their engineers.
Because the sport now is you're not going and designing a new front upright or you're not going and designing a new anti-roll bar.
So how you guys communicate with your engineers so the engineers can come up with the best possible solution to make the car goes faster, that's the currency in the category now.
So the better that the drivers can be at that,
the better that ultimately they'll be able to communicate with the engineer, the better decisions the engineer makes, hopefully the faster the car goes.
Well, uh, the plan, there was no set in stone thing that I was retiring, um, last year.
But back to the Matt thing, it was particularly rewarding winning with him, obviously because I'd sort of been working with him really intensively in 23 and 24.
And then as they get more experience, you sort of taper off the hardcore stuff and just give them sort of little bits here and there.
But then, I mean, a lot of people forget that he crashed in 24 at Bathurst.
So I shared the car with him in 24 and he crashed at the cutting and we were running fifth or sixth at that stage and he crashed and that was it, race over.
So for him to come back 12 months later and in those conditions, race the way that he did and deal with the pressure the way that he dealt with it, that was very, very satisfying to see and be part of.
You know, the whole race team, you know, being part of that.
It's funny, I think I got out of the car around lap 90 or something like that.
And I put the radio on and my radio has communication with all the executive in the race team.
