I was sick as a dog.
And I got to tell you, I'm lucky.
I have a stable mood.
It is, you know, between here and here, never manic, never really depressed, just coasting along nicely.
But I was sick.
It was early 90s.
And I had this sinus infection.
I got a medication for it, erythromycin.
It's a popular antibiotic.
Within a day and a half, first of all, my stomach was just falling to pieces.
I was in such pain.
But I was depressed.
And I was literally on a couch, my head in Arlene's lap,
crying i was that depressed and it was at a point in time i was trying to get my uh private practice going and it wasn't doing well david it really wasn't and i thought this is the source of my sadness and depression because of the stomachache i attributed it to the erythromycin i went back to the doctor i said i can't i can't take this anymore she switched my medication
Within a day, the stomach ache went away.
So too, the depression.
Yes.
But again, this idea of feelings need to be anchored in reality.
So I attached that extreme mood to my circumstance, not getting the private practice
off the ground yet.
