Listen, if you look at countries where people have been able to go from poverty to being rich, these were not countries which had aggressively growing inequality.
If you allow your country to be a country where the poor get poorer every year and the rich get richer every year, that will not be a world where ordinary people like you can get into being financially secure.
We need to move away from an economic system where wealth is being drained away from the many and accumulated by the super rich and towards an economic system where wealth circulates around.
But listen, the rich are getting richer.
They'll buy themselves a lot of newspapers and a lot of media channels and they'll put a lot of silly videos on the internet.
What we need is an educated public that understands one simple message.
If we allow inequality to get worse and worse and worse, then you and your kids and your grandkids will be living in poverty.
So in answer to Jeff Bezos, it will make a difference.
If we tax the super rich, it will make a difference.
that is the only way that we can get wealth back in the hands of working people.
And that is the only way that you and your kids can be rich.
Tax wealth not worked.
