It's fucking... Knockout City, I think, went down. Knockout City. That was literally the one that was on the tip of my tongue. Knockout City. Now this... still far more failures in this live service space than successes, right? You can point to Helldivers and Destiny and the games that continue to tick along seemingly somewhat healthily.
And these ones, even with major corporations and so much IP, it's almost silly behind them, right? And a couple of things. Yes, it's sad to see it. It's always sad to see a game fail, right? We'd much rather see games be good and succeed. Multiverse is one that I kind of like... I don't know.

When I first saw it, I was like, first of all, it's a little bit disgraceful, the extent to which you've ripped off Smash Bros. Do you say Smash Bros. or Smash Bros.?

I think Smash Bros. is cooler. Yeah, Smash Bros. is quicker. So let's go with Smash Bros. I mean, the degree to which you ripped off Smash Bros. is almost insulting, but then like... Mashing together. It's just the thing, right? It's all IP. People love IP. Look at Space Jam 2. Everybody wants to see all these IP characters. Like, apparently not.

So, like, I get it in Smash Bros where it all comes from, like, a very specific kind of subculture of video games. Like, I get why Star Fox is fighting Luigi, right? I get why Richter Belmont is fighting Sephiroth.

Right. And this is a celebration of classic video games. And look at Marvel Rivals. Marvel Rivals is the same, right? Absolutely. The extent to which that is a ripoff of Overwatch is staggering. Yeah. Right? But they've obviously executed on it very well. And it makes, those are all characters from the Marvel universe. So like Rocket Raccoon fighting Blackwell.

I mean, they already did this in Civil War. These Marvel characters, they're meant to fight each other. That's the whole fucking point, right? So that makes sense. But like, just grabbing together, oh, we own that. Oh, we own Jake from State Farm. Let's fucking throw him in there. Have him fight fucking Deputy Dogg.

And, like, her left special being she has drugs. Don't think for a second that he wouldn't have done it. Yeah.

Right. And again, it makes sense, at least, that they would all be together. It makes sense that they would all be together. When it's like Nintendo in the world of video games, or Marvel, which is obviously its own self-contained universe already, or like I said, even the world of Nickelodeon, right, where it at least feels like there's a commonality between them. There's a commonality, yeah.

But when the only thing that is bringing them together is your fucking mergers and acquisitions over the years have created such a multi-Hydra-headed company that you just own all this shit, and you think you can just throw it all into one thing and that will have any kind of coherence. Yeah.

It's why I've never, and I'm sure there are some out there that I would have enjoyed if I played, it's why I've never bothered to even try and play another kart racer. I'm like, why would I play this when I could just be playing Mario Kart? 1,000%.
