I thought he was going in there.
God.
And then like a ropey shot into 16 as well.
But a lovely, lovely touch.
And maybe that's the difference that, you know, the two signature shots in that final round with a shot into 12 and that putt from Tiger Woods' territory off the back of the 16th.
Tiger chipped it and Rory, like it's such a scary putt.
Like you've got a massive slope on a green like an ice rink that feeds down into a bit of a lake.
But McIlroy found a perfect touch and like how,
How you find that touch when the adrenaline is pumping through you and you've got a two shot league heading into the 71st hole of the Masters.
I have no idea how he found that touch.
And maybe that's the legacy of last year.
Maybe that's what's different about this year than it is last year, that when he had to play the delicate, conservative touch that he found it, whereas he didn't last year.
Yeah, I think the difference was this year around was McElroy going to McElroy, but without that sense of all-encompassing doom, which used to engulf him at Augusta previously.
And this is what he attributed even his good rounds on Thursday and Friday to.
Like Thursday, he shot 567.
And he said afterwards, look, 200 would have been a fair result for that round, given he hardly hit a fairway all day.
But he said, you know, when he did miss previously, he would get he'd get anxious.
He would say, oh, God, I'm off the fairway.
What kind of great shot do I have to adhere to get myself back into, you know, get making birdies and start making a charge for this tournament?
Whereas, you know, that kind of time or patience is a better word for it is the luxury of the game.
