And then she took the gloves off.

And I thought, ah, now I see what she's getting at.
Although you have to wonder what sort of mental hoops she'd jumped through.
to convince herself that it was going to turn out any differently than it did.
I suppose if she's not there, she hasn't, maybe she forgets what Brian's like.
Yeah.
But Adam simply isn't very good at this stuff, is he?
First of all, I think his biggest handicap actually is he cannot be honest with himself.
And so he has a war view of what's going on and what other people are up to and what they want.
Well, he's, and Ian called him on it this week, and I was cheering when Ian said, Adam, you don't actually think your dad's got dementia.
Yeah, yeah.
But I think Adam has actually, I don't think he thought that Brian has dementia.
But he's convinced himself of it because it fits his needs.
And he actually believes or has made himself believe it now.
When you go into a situation like that, having convinced yourself of things that aren't true, you're not dealing with the people and the facts in front of you anymore.
You're dealing with a fantasy world and it can't ever go anything but badly.
So he's just not built for these things.
Mm-hmm.
He's dealing with a situation that isn't the situation that's actually in the room.
