How can you even get your head around how many pills that must be and what it must be like to lead this double life?

And that addiction, he says, made him paranoid, dishonest and at the end of the day, financially desperate.

And I think the more money you have, the more money you spend and the more money you need,

So it was around then a year after the boat crash when everything began to crumble for Alec himself.

So investigation started into his finances and it was revealed that he'd been stealing client money and creating fake bank accounts and this whole different world that he was involved in.

And it seems like

At this point, he became absolutely desperate.

And in 2021, just two years after the boat crash,

Paul and Maggie were shot dead at the family home.
