But, you know, within a year he was playing for Souths and we all played together and he made the England team.

That wouldn't have happened if he stayed in England, I don't think.

I grew up dreaming of playing for Leeds Rhinos in the Super League.

That was my team.

And I was a season ticket holder from a young age in the South Stand.

And yeah, Leeds Rhinos was my dream.

My favorite players were Barry McDermott and Andy Farrell, who played for Great Britain.

So I'd only kind of started hearing about the NRL, I think probably it was when Willie Mason had a fight with Jamie Peacock.

So good to see.

Cause no, not many people like big stew back in the day.

And he shaped up, he shaped up, but then he didn't keep his hands up.

So he got dropped.

He went for the little flinchy and then Mason drops him, but Peacocks came in.

One, two, three, I think dropped Mason.

And then I was like, yeah, I've got to start watching the NRL.

Willie Mason was like my end to the NRL.

No one cares about rugby league in England.

They really don't like it.
