But I did, you know, my argument to him, and it's a funny thing as I'm 64 now, I said to him, I don't want to wake up at 65 years old and say, I think I could have, which is a fascinating thing at 64 now.
I got a job as an extra on a movie down at Keeneland Racetrack.
My cousin Miguel had gotten a part in it, and I didn't really know him.
I'd met him a couple of times, but I loved him because he lived in Hollywood.
So I went down and they gave me a part as an extra.
I think I made 25 bucks a day, which was, you know, I was thrilled.
And then when it was over and he was going back to Hollywood, he said, you know, you ought to go to L.A.
And a couple of months later, I, you know, I took my 1976 Monte Carlo with rust all over it.
And so I drove for like 40 hours, got to L.A.,
And then I moved in with my buddy, a guy that I met, a guy named Tom Matthews, and he let me sleep on the floor of his closet of his one-bedroom apartment.
And I stayed there for almost three years, two and a half years, sleeping in that closet.
