Meta has agreed to purchase enough of AMD's newest generation of computing chips over the next five years to supply six gigawatts worth of computing power.

As the AI boom continues to grow, chip makers have been seeking to lock in longer-term deals with their limited supply of large buyers.

After the announcement, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he expects AMD to be, quote, an important partner for many years to come.
