A landslide in China has destroyed the 2,500-foot-long Hongqi Bridge just months after it opened.

The bridge, which links the Tibetan Plateau to China's heartland, was completed earlier this year and spans nearly half a mile across a river gorge.

Dramatic video from the scene shows rock and debris cascading down the mountainside, crushing the bridge.
