One area, though, of Britain that's sort of struggled, shall we say, over recent years, the high street.

Latest chain in trouble is TG Jones, who they, you might think, yes, old WH Smith, basically.

The rebrand that is probably one of the most terrible rebrands anyway.

Its new private equity owners, Medela Capital, launched a restructuring plan this week that would see 150 branches closed with hundreds of jobs at risk.

Now, they bought the chain last year for 40 million quid, and they're blaming the restructuring or the fact that they have to do it

on the fact that they say they were forced to ditch the household brand name WH Smith by the parent company.

Now, of course, you will have noticed WH Smith still in places like, you know, airports and train stations.

That part of the business was doing well.
