When Kai Havertz was out injured, it wasn't a complete disaster.

They weren't playing Mikkel Marino up front for 40 games.

It was like, oh, actually, we've signed a striker.

He might not be amazing, but he's good enough to score 18 league goals.

Yeah.

It was just that they were smart and they signed five players last year.

Norgard disappeared.

But other than him, everybody had significant minutes.

And the dip wasn't bad enough for there to be a precipitous fall after where there was in previous seasons.

The good players, obviously, are the most important in terms of winning the league.

But they actually had proper depth.

And maybe they got lucky with a lot of injuries.

Maybe next season, maybe five more players get injured.

Well, I don't know.

I'm interested to see how City and Villa approach that game.
