Our Thursdays start through the eye of the coach with Adam Simpson.
Jacob Wiedering, the Blues vice-captain, is going to join me later this hour.
Adam Simpson, the eye of the coach, every Thursday with an eye toward the footy that's coming.
Last night you presented to us team defence.
You spoke to us last year on this slot about 20-40-60.
Just give us a quick shorthand version because I want to expand it to if you're a coach in the suburbs and you want to do this, how do you do it?
So this worked really well for me when I was, when I started and we had the talent and the maturity, but at the back end, when we had kids and rebuilding, it didn't work.
So we had to revert to some different strategies, but.
You know, the cyclone defense, really, it's been around for a little while.
It's about staying connected and it's about what you do when you're 20 meters away, 40 meters away and 60 meters away.
And how do you train those three phases?
Because they're all little different parts to it that none of them work if you miss one of them.
So, I mean, the 20 is about pressure, really.
So the old press and cover.
Do I press the play with the ball or cover the receiver?
A lot of clubs would do that at local level, really.
And Collingwood are the best at that.
So when they do that well, their whole game looks better.
