The debate will come, won't it?

The debate is, and this is where it's serious, so you can say that lightheartedly, do we actually have enough players?

quality umpires to service the four umpire system in a professional sport?

And the answer to that is actually no.

So we're trying to get them up to speed, but this is a professional sport.

All nine games every weekend matter.

And we don't have a core of umpires who are capable of officiating in those games at the moment.

It's a massive issue for the league.

I think there's merit in that debate at the moment.

And then you figure out a way to bring the squad up to speed to service four.

But the lesson of Saturday was we don't have enough for the task at hand.

The curiosity was Geelong's strategic approach on Thursday night and what to make of that.

Yeah.

Well, they're, the close losses are going to hurt Geelong in the battle for fourth.
