President Trump says lax migration policies are a top national security threat.
The White House posted a social media video following Wednesday's shooting of two members of the West Virginia National Guard.
NPR's Sage Miller has more on Trump's response to the shooting from West Palm Beach, where the president is spending Thanksgiving.
Those two West Virginia National Guard members are in a Washington, D.C.
Officials say they are in critical condition after being shot just blocks from the White House.
Mayor Muriel Bowser calls the shooting a targeted attack.
The Hong Kong government says at least 44 people have been killed in a massive fire that tore through a high-rise complex in the city, nearly 300 still missing.
The fire began in one building before jumping to six more in a public housing complex.
And as NPR Assembly Fang reports, it's already prompting questions about why the complex went up in flames so quickly.
Now to Thanksgiving travel as Americans make their way to holiday destinations to be with friends and family.
