Elon Musk is planning an IPO of SpaceX over the next few months.

He's after a valuation of $2 trillion US for the company.

If he achieves that valuation, his personal net worth will increase dramatically.

to around $1 trillion US.

That would equate to around 3.5% of annual US GDP.

And as a share of GDP, that will make him by some distance, the richest ever American.
