state dollars are fungible, right?
So they just don't put in the state dollars they would otherwise put into education and they use our property taxes instead.
And what we have is everybody is struggling when it comes to our neighborhood public schools and schools are shutting down and teachers are leaving.
Well, I think it depends how you look at it, right?
I will say that when we have looked at the only comparator that I know on outcomes are NAEP scores.
And I don't know that I can tell you what NAEP stands for right now.
National Assessment.
I'm making that up.
So we refer to it as NAEP scores.
And it is a kind of snapshot of different schools in different states.
And they compare them all together.
Our NAEP scores have either been have mostly been decreasing when you look at Texas.
So so I would I will say, you know, there we have some some schools where they are achieving there at a very high level.
They make some top 100 lists.
I think that happened recently.
But when you look overall at our outcomes, they're not better.
And in fact, in many areas, they are worse.
And I think we just have to get back to the basics.
And that is something where I have found agreement with Republicans, kind of getting back to basics.
