But I also wonder if so many of us would be served better by being handed that book after you've met your first favorite six-year-old or you have fallen in love the first time for yourself.

I always tease that I need to make a classics list and then say what age you should really read that classic book.
Well, here's the reminder, and I don't think this will be the last time I talk about this, but to reread those books because sometimes they'll say one thing to you at 15 and something entirely different at 45.
