A lot of attention, though, on this primary election day.
A couple of posts very much in the spotlight.
The first is for Governor as to who replaces Gavin Newsom.
There are a couple of top contenders after Eric Swalwell withdrew amid those claims of sex scandals.
Left behind are Javier Becerra, a former cabinet official for Biden, and Tom Steyer, a billionaire who now is talking about taxing the rich.
Steyer has spent, get this...
$195 million US on campaign commercials, the most ever.
His ads run everywhere.
Then comes the race for LA mayor.
The sitting mayor, Karen Bass, is facing a lot of flak for her mishandling of the LA bushfires in January last year that killed four people and destroyed thousands of buildings.
She was off on a trip to Ghana at the time, despite saying she would never travel during her term, and her bid to deal with the homeless crisis also was slammed as too costly and ineffective.
Into the mix...
His former bad guy on reality TV, Spencer Pratt, who was challenging the two top Democrats.
He is right there with Bass and another Dem with about 22%, say the polls.
He could make it into the final runoff.
Pratt lost his home in the Palisades fire on the coast here last year.
And since then, he's published a memoir entitled The Guy You Love to Hate.
There's a campaign slogan for you.
His ads suggest he's been living on the property where his house was destroyed.
In fact, he's been staying in a $1,500 a night luxury hotel, says TV host Jimmy Kimmel.
