I wouldn't be surprised, but they have to fix their defense.
They also have to figure out who their stopgap quarterback is.
Now, if they go on to have another bad year next year,
I do not think that the owner will put up with it.
I think that they'll end up moving on, and it will be another coaching search because they're going to end up with a very high draft pick, and they're going to have to make a decision.
And if Arch Manning is a part of it, and we all believe that he will be, and he is the consensus number one pick if he is.
I'm not sure if he will be at this point, but I'm just thinking ahead, and I'm trying to think like if Arch Manning is there and the Jets go on the tank run again.
then somebody else would be coaching him.
I would also say that, you know...
Finding a defensive coordinator right now, I don't know what kind of contract they can offer the guy.
They're going to offer him at least $2 million a year for sure.
But what kind of term?
Because is Aaron Glenn going to see his full term out?
Or is he not?
There's a million financial questions you have to ask yourself in regards to where the Jets could be possibly this time next year.
If you are a defensive coordinator that is picking between two teams, the thing that I would say, if you're a defensive coordinator and you are highly sought after, you're going to want to go with a new coach who has a new contract as opposed to a coach who's sitting on potentially a stick of dynamite.
That's a really good point.
I think you should all work.
I've got to say it's one of the best phone calls you've ever had, Dan.
But really, honestly, it's one of the best calls he's ever had.
