Yeah, I mean, the lack of legitimate starting pitching, I think, this year stands out.
Like, Gunnar Henderson is struggling.
And he and Adley Rutschman have kind of flip-flopped, right?
Like, you and I had this conversation a year ago, and it's what's going on with Adley Rutschman.
Well, Adley Rutschman now looks like the guy that we saw from three years ago.
But Gunnar Henderson has become kind of all or nothing.
If he's not hitting home runs, he's not helping, and he's not playing good defense.
And while they did go out and get Pete Alonzo, they needed top-of-the-rotation pitching.
Mike Elias said that publicly.
And the best starting pitching that they went out and got was Shane Boz and Chris Bassett, and neither one of them are working.
It's just kind of a mess.
And I think that starting pitching stands out the most, but it's not the only problem.
They seem to have some foundational problems with trying to chase hard hits.
and not getting the contact they need in certain spots.
But they're in some real trouble at the moment because, as you point out, it's now, you know, you go back to the midway point of the 2024 season, it's the better part of two full years of disappointing the downright bad baseball, and they're running out of time.
to show that they still have direction to move towards being a competitive team.
It's definitely frustrating for the organization, and they'll tell you they're searching for answers.
