Teams just don't believe in guys that throw low 90s.

But the surface numbers speak for themselves with Danny Coulomb.

I also have him with the Red Sox.

I think the Red Sox have needed a lefty reliever all offseason.

I think they could try to sell it to the fan base, not acquiring one, say how much they love Giovanni Moran, say that we believe in Samaniego, say at some point if it gets there that Patrick Sandoval could be an effective lefty out of the pen.

They have options that they could turn to, and they got it right last year.

They signed Justin Wilson when no one thought he could pitch, and they got it right.

So in that sense, maybe they've earned the benefit of the doubt.

But when you're a team like the Red Sox that's trying to compete for a World Series, and you've got a good lefty like Danny Coulombe out there, and he's probably not asking for much, and it's going to be a one-year deal, very low risk.

I just don't understand why you'd put yourself in a position to potentially have to trade for that need mid-season when the type of guy that you'd be trading for is available right now for not very much.

So I have him going to the Red Sox, and that's something I just absolutely think the Red Sox should do.
