Oh, well, as you can probably tell from the accent, I'm a Kiwi, but living in Australia now.

Used to travel over here, lots and lots, been over here.

I first came over in 88, so we love Queensland, so...

But grew up in Auckland, Auckland born and bred.

One of five boys.

Yeah.

Grew up in South Auckland, deepest, darkest South Auckland.

Loved the place.

And then, yeah, did all my schooling there.

And basically I was, all my mates left school and went to do apprenticeships.

And I said to my old man, I'm going to leave school.

And he said, no, you're not, not without a job.

And he had a sheet metal manufacturing business and I used to go and work there on the holidays and stuff like that.

And I thought, fuck, I can't do this.

This is repetitive and boring.

I actually wanted to be an architect.

So at school, my best subjects were engineering and technical drawing.

But for some reason, he just said to me, you're not leaving school.

And he rang his mate at the bank.

It was Westpac at the time and said, my son wants to leave school.
