But the crazy thing is, by the time we're done, there will be as big of a line, if not bigger, of burly, hairy, 40-year-old men bawling their eyes out coming to meet my father as there ever were Wimpy Kid or Talladega Nights or Greyhound fans or Blue Ridge fans, which is the show I'm on right now, on Peacock.
And they're standing there going, how do you still have your marriage?
And how do you still have X, Y, and Z?
And the only thing we can chalk that up to is the good Lord.
Because he shouldn't be here.
And neither should my granddad, by extension me.
It's a long rant, but that's how I came up.
That's powerful.
It's not something I ever thought I would do.
I remember I put this band together.
my freshman year of college.
So we'd been playing together for eight years next month.
And I remember at some point driving through campus going, I have no desire to do original music at all ever.
Because why?
Like, what do I have to say?
What could I write that would be any more entertaining than me just getting up there and playing Freebird?
So you just said covers at first?
Yeah, for the first five years.
