So you think they might say, hey, Rutherford, do you just want to say you're the general manager and not hire anybody new?
No, I don't think they'll do that.
But yeah, but the structure itself is problematic.
So why continue on with that?
It seems so bizarre.
It's like you have a very obvious way of solving it by just saying, hey, Rutherford, you might have a couple more years left in the league.
He's going to finish it off as a general manager, president, multi-role, like lots of guys do.
But doesn't an assistant GM do that or can't an assistant GM do that?
I mean, it's only titles, right?
Yeah, but it'd be a less confusing title, I think, if you have like the AGM handling some of the day-to-day stuff.
Look at this minor detail to take care of here.
I'm just going to handle this little detail.
Assistant GMs get promoted to general managers on teams often, right?
Like that does that succession plan.
So then couldn't you just be like, instead of finding another general manager,
you find an assistant general manager to help Rutherford, who is still planned as being his successor in the one or two year period when he leaves.
And then it would be less confusing in terms of messaging.
