Currently there is no minimum number of signatures required.
So currently, and these things are constantly being reviewed like any part of government.
the parliamentary process, it comes up through a yearly review, and that's going on at the moment.
But currently it can be just you, and the topic itself has to be cleared by the clerks of the House, but they will work closely with you to help you get that across the line.
They host it then on the parliamentary site.
There's rules around โ it's pretty generous, the scope of what you can host up there โ
But there are minimum standards and things that can't be offensive or breach the Bill of Rights, et cetera, of what you're asking for.
And then they host it on the website, on the parliamentary website, usually for two to three months for opening signatures.
But it's up to you when you decide you're going to close it.
