That's all there is to it, and you can see it.
And there's nothing better.
I mean, whether it be Matthew Schaefer or Jackson Dart or Nolan McClain, and now you have Schlittler and Ben Rice is starting to figure it all out.
I mean, there's nothing better than watching younger players in the uniforms that you root for actually turn into something.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, and I think that's part of the reason why, and I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this, but part of the reason why Met fans were so annoyed with the Pete Alonzo thing is like, it's your guy.
You know, he came up through your system.
He was doing special things in your uniform.
He was breaking your franchise record.
So fans love guys like this a little bit more because they've always been your guy.
Yeah, that's right.
They've always been your guy.
And what I love, too, about Schlittler is we know the guy's got that little bit of red ass in him, as you like to say, when it comes to certain quarterbacks or certain guys in NFL locker rooms because of what he did last year after shutting down the Red Sox and he was popping off a little bit, which I had no problem with.
I mean, the Yankees need stuff like that.
That's one criticism that I've had about the Yankees the last several years is, yes, they're very good, but they lack that sort of edge that they had when they were great.
Arrogance.
Yeah.
It's the arrogance.
And I understand that comes with winning, but sometimes you need to have it before you win in order to win.
And there's a couple of guys on this team that have that.
